Depression is a function, not a sickness.

It is a mechanism to drive you home. It is like hunger – it is manifested in the physical. It’s not just an idea or thought. It’s more than that.

Look back to the time of cavemen. What is preventing them from riding of into the sunset and never returning? Depression is a severe form of home sickness.

But in modern society home has been redefined. And you can get the feeling of not being home even though you are at home.

To get rid of the depression you must find a way home in your head.

Depression is actually about dying.

You know it in your soul. The longing for it all to stop. The craving for death to end you.

Pain is everywhere no matter where you move your attention to inside your soul.

However, you mistakenly believe that it is the end of you, because you think the illness within you IS you.

Your soul wants the sickness to die. You think you are the sickness. That the sickness IS you. Therefore, the logical thing is to die. You have to take your own life.

It is a mistake to believe, and one you have been building for years. It is not easy to correct. They say that depression is a widespread disease. However, it is our mind that is a wide spread disease, and depression is the remedy. Depression is a function, not a disease. Not one cell in your body or function of your brain has arrived by chance. To believe depression is a malfunction arrived from the outside is a mistake.

Being sad is not a disease, it is a symptom. Mind arises out of fear and is a useful feature in certain situations. But if we are living the wrong life, then the Mind continues to be active and takes over your being. It makes you sick. In modern society with high population density, your Mind is continuously stimulated.

You say, “Oh, God, I want to die.” A deep sinking feeling and fatigue that goes beyond description. May it soon be over – it is unbearable. That is good because it means that you have now come to a place where you can only take your own life, or realize that you have to look for your way back home.

You may have talked to a doctor and you may have been offered antidepressants. Psychoactive drugs.

You should definitely say no to that. They do not solve your problem, I promise you. If they work as they should, and it is not that often, they will dampen the sinking feeling in your chest. It may be what you want at this moment. Society have no use for people who are not productive. And your husband or wife will probably want a divorce if you do you not soon find a solution. You will certainly lose both house and car if you do not find a solution quickly. The offer to taking psychoactive drugs is really an offer you cannot refuse.

Nevertheless, before you decide you should search the internet and find some of the forums where people share experiences with Prozac and the likes. Then you will find out it is not a matter of just eating some pills for 6-12 months and then problem solved.

There you will find that a very large proportion will get even worse, and the other part may continue to eat pills for perhaps 5 years or more, and at any time they stop taking them, they get immediate relapse.

They do not cure other than the symptoms.

You must make up your mind whether you want to find a lasting solution or you want to continue your life as it is, now just with relief from suffering.

If you are already at a place where you mostly want to die, then you should be glad because then there is the will for development instead of lethargy. That is highly needed. The will to really move, to totally change. In fact, the death of the person you are today. You can find another reality with the help of others. A place where you can feel safe and well. A home.

When boasting, we acknowledge and cement its significance. If we later cannot live up to that we must consider us selves inferior. It is built-in. We have just said that it was very worthwhile. We are constantly setting us selves up for a fall. Moreover, the society cultivates that we have to prove our selves constantly.

In the old days you could just make potatoes or be producing cows, there was food. You did not need to be anything. Today you will lose your job if you are not “important”. Your whole personality is a sand castle, a mirage. You protect it tooth and nail.

You can only go through a depression, not come back from a depression. You must stop thinking that you can come out of your depression. It prevent your growth. You may think, “if only I could be like before I was depressed.”

Stop it.

If you are depressed then there is nothing wrong with you. Then you are fit and healthy. It shows that the very fine mechanism within you that is to help you get the right perspective on life was activated. The fact that it is there tell you are healthy. That you are not missing it.

You should be glad. You on the other hand had a very wrong idea about yourself and life, and you must change.

Depression is the cure. Not the pills that they offer you. The place you now find yourself in you must totally accept. The place you are in life – the pain. Now you can only open up or shut it out. If you want to move on you can only open up. So stop defending your position, you need to be somewhere else anyhow. If your husband / wife wants a divorce, so be it. In this case, he / she is also part of the problem.

Of all the creatures on earth, ants and cows and dogs, flies, not one must struggle to fulfill their whole purpose in life. Just the breathing and eating the food they need, they have fulfilled their divine purpose. Only humans think they have to exert themselves, and yet they cannot see the purpose.

Even if you totally let go and it all went to hell, life can still be very beautiful. In the forests, you can still find beauty and joy. You are already perfect. If you wake up in the morning and breathe, you are perfect. Count on it.

Let go of your idiotic ideas about yourself and let go of it all. Allow yourself to be.

Not only submit. Quit your job and see what happens. Go into it. As long as you are breathing all the time as long as you survive. Your ideas probably do not. That is the point.

If it all collapses when you step out of line then step out, get the avalanche going. Get it over with.

There behind it all, when all is lost, and all sand castles collapsed, there is a place so beautiful that you will not understand how you could fail to see it before. Count on it. You will meet people in a whole new way. There will be so quiet inside you that initially it will unsettle you.

When you stop being terrified, you will start seeing the world as it is. There you will find yourself. Not the story of how you are, or were. Not your past or your future dreams, but YOU. There you will find home.

Dissolve yourself. Stop being anything at all. Just be! It takes time. Take your time. Read books. Meditate. Observer. Cry or laugh. You are perfect already.

Doctors have not the faintest idea how it is like to have a depression. They have not tried it. They cannot help you. Stop believing it. There is only you who can help you. Yes, many have been through this and they want to help you. They will find you when you surrender.

Embrace your depression and find your way home through it.
